The 2020 census revealed that Massachusetts has a population of over 7 million, an increase since 2010. Most Bay State residents live in the Boston metropolitan area which includes greater Boston and extends to Greater Lowell and Worcester. The Springfield Metropolitan Area is also a major center of populations demographically with the population distribution centered on Natick, MA.

The state of Massachusetts has a large number of different cultures, which can be seen not only by the number of people immigrating to this area for its economic opportunities but also in how each region within the state is growing. The population growth continues as 40% or so are from Central America and South America while countless others come from Asia.
